What is the Zosi Default Password?

As of 2026, Zosi security systems follow a standardized factory credential policy. Whether you have a new unit or have just successfully performed a factory reset, the default login details are:

  • Default Username: admin (all lowercase)1

  • Default Password: (blank) — Leave the password field entirely empty.

1. Mandatory Setup (Initialization)

When you first power on a Zosi DVR, NVR, or IP camera, the system is in an "Uninitialized" state. To protect your privacy, Zosi requires you to create a unique password before you can start using the device.

  • The Requirements: Your new password must be at least 6 characters long.2

  • The Old Password Field: When the system asks for the "Old Password" during this setup, leave it blank and simply enter your new password in the fields below.3

2. Legacy Zosi Default Credentials

If you are working with an older analog Zosi model (pre-2019) or certain OEM unbranded units, the following "blank" rule may not apply. Try these legacy combinations:

Username

Default Password

admin

(blank)

Most common for Zosi recorders.

Used on early 720p/1080p analog DVRs.

Found on some older wireless NVR kits.

Rare, but used on very early legacy hardware.

3. Troubleshooting: When the Default Fails

If leaving the password blank results in an "Incorrect Password" error, a custom password has already been set. To regain access, you have two primary options:

  • The Super Password: Zosi technical support can generate a one-time "Super Password" based on your device's UID/Serial Number and the current system date displayed on your monitor.4

  • The Zosi SPD App: This Android utility can scan your local network and generate a temporary unlock code for many Zosi DVR/NVR models without having to wait for email support.

4. Important Network Ports

If you are logging in via a web browser or integrating your Zosi system with a third-party platform, you will need these default ports:

  • HTTP Port: 80

  • HTTPS Port: 443

  • Client Port: 9000 (Used for Zosi Smart PC software)

  • Default IP: Usually 192.168.1.100 (or assigned automatically via DHCP)5
