What is the Reolink Default Password?

As of 2026, Reolink maintains a strict security policy regarding default credentials.1 While they use a standard administrative username, they do not provide a pre-set password for any of their modern devices.2

+1

1. The Factory Default Credentials

If you are setting up a new Reolink camera, NVR, or Home Hub, or if you have just performed a factory reset, the login details are:

  • Default Username: admin (case-sensitive, lowercase)3

  • Default Password: (blank) — Leave the password field entirely empty.4

2. Mandatory Initialization (Why the Default Fails)

Reolink devices are shipped in an "Uninitialized" state. This means that the first time you access the camera via the Reolink App or Client, you will be forced to create a unique password before you can view any video.

  • Security Requirement: The password must be between 6 and 32 characters.

  • Recovery Email: During this initial setup, you will be prompted to enter a recovery email address. Do not skip this step. It is the only way to reset your password in the future without physically climbing a ladder to press the reset button.

3. Troubleshooting: When "Blank" Doesn't Work

If you leave the password blank and still get an "Incorrect Password" error, one of two things has happened:

  1. The NVR "Auto-Add" Feature: If your camera is plugged into a Reolink NVR (or is on the same network as one), the NVR may have automatically detected the camera and assigned it a random password for security.5

    • The Fix: Go to the NVR's local monitor (connected via HDMI), navigate to Settings > Camera, and look for the camera's password in the User Management section.

  2. The Device is Used: If you bought the camera second-hand, the previous owner’s password is still active. You must perform a Hard Reset (holding the physical reset button for 10 seconds) to return it to the admin / (blank) state.6

4. Default IP and Ports

To access your Reolink device directly via a web browser, use these default parameters:

Setting

Default Value

Default IP (Camera)

192.168.0.100 (or assigned via DHCP)

Default IP (NVR)

192.168.0.99 (or assigned via DHCP)

HTTP Port

80

HTTPS Port

443

ONVIF Port

8000

RTSP Port

554

Note: For security, many 2026 Reolink models have HTTP/HTTPS ports disabled by default. You must enable them in the Network Settings using the Reolink App before you can log in via a web browser.
