1. Modern Hardware (Sarix Pro 4, Spectra, Optera)
Most Pelco devices manufactured or updated in recent years do not have a default password.
Initial Setup: Upon first access (via a web browser or VxToolbox), the system will be in a "Factory Default State."
Forced Password Creation: You will be automatically redirected to a "New User" page. You are required to create a unique Administrator username and a complex password before the camera becomes operational.
The "Big Team" Tip: Our installation specialists recommend a minimum of 12 characters, including a mix of upper/lower case, numbers, and symbols to meet 2026 compliance standards.
2. Legacy Hardware (General Access)
For older Pelco systems (legacy Sarix, IP110, or older Spectra models), the factory-shipped credentials were standardized:
Default Username: admin
Default Password: admin
3. Specialized System & Technical Access
If you are performing high-level systems engineering or troubleshooting via SSH (Secure Shell), the credentials differ:
SSH/Linux Root Access (Endura, NSM5200, SM5200): * User: root
Password: pel2899100
Legacy DVRs (DX4500/DX4600):
Firmware 1.2 or older: ADMINISTRATOR / 000000
Firmware 1.3 or newer: admin / admin
Technical Connectivity Defaults
If you are looking for the camera on your network for the first time, our Network Infrastructure Department notes the following default settings:
Default IP Address: 192.168.0.20
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Status: Modern units will attempt to pull a DHCP address first; if a server is not found, they typically fall back to the .20 static address.
A Note on Cybersecurity: If you find a legacy device still using "admin/admin," our team strongly advises an immediate password update and firmware audit. Modern threats specifically target these known default strings.
