For modern Hanwha (Wisenet) cameras and recorders, there is no default password.1

Hanwha removed default passwords years ago as a security measure. When you access a new or factory-reset device for the first time, the system will require you to create a secure password before you can proceed.

Quick Credentials Summary

Field

Value

Default Username

admin

Default Password

None (Must be set on first login)

Default IP Address

192.168.1.100 (if no DHCP is present)

Specific Scenarios

1. First-Time Setup

When you log in for the first time via a web browser or the Wisenet Device Manager, a "Password Change" window will appear.2

  • Requirement: Most models require a password of 8–15 characters using at least three types of characters (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, or special characters).3

2. Older Legacy Models (Pre-2015)

If you are working with an older Samsung Techwin or very early Hanwha model, you may find one of these older defaults:

  • Username: admin

  • Password: 4321 or 1234 or pass

3. Recovering a Lost Password

Because there is no "master password," if you forget the credentials, you must perform a Hard Factory Reset:

  • For Cameras: Press and hold the physical Reset button on the device for 5–10 seconds while it is powered on.4

  • For Recorders (NVR/DVR): Use the small pinhole reset button on the back of the unit.5 Hold for 5 seconds until the unit reboots and enters the "Initial Setup Wizard."
