How to Reset Uniview Password: Professional Methods for Resetting NVRs

Uniview (UNV) systems are highly secure, but they provide several professional-grade recovery paths for when a password is lost. In 2026, the most reliable methods involve the EZView/UNV-Link app, EZCloud, or a direct support request via the official Uniview portal.

Method 1: The "Forgot Password" QR Code (Fastest)

This is the standard professional method for NVRs connected to a monitor. It relies on a pre-configured recovery email.

  1. Access the Login Screen: Click the "Forgot Password" button on the bottom-right of the NVR login window.

  2. Verify the Email: A QR code will appear. Check the partially hidden email address displayed below it. If it is yours, proceed.

  3. Scan with the App:

    • Open the EZView or UNV-Link app on your phone.1


    • Go to Me > General > Forgot Device Password (or Tool > Forgot Device Password).

  4. Receive the Code: Scan the QR code on the monitor. A 6-digit security code will be sent to your registered email.2


  5. Unlock: Enter the code on the NVR monitor to set a new password.

Method 2: EZCloud Recovery (Web-Based)

If your device is linked to a cloud account, you can generate a daily master password through the Uniview portal.

  1. Log in to EZCloud: Go to en.ezcloud.uniview.com.

  2. Select Device: Find your NVR in the device list and click the Key icon.3


  3. Verify Date: Note the Current System Date displayed on your NVR monitor.

  4. Acquire Code: Enter the device date and click "Acquire."4 A code will be sent to your cloud account email.


  5. Master Password: Once you enter the verification code on the website, it will generate a temporary password valid for today only.5 Use this to log in and change your admin password.


Method 3: Official Password Reset Request (No Recovery Email)

If you never set a recovery email, you must use Uniview's official reset portal. This requires a computer on the same network.6


  1. Gather Device Info: Use the EZTools software to find your NVR’s Serial Number (SN) and current System Date.

  2. Visit the Portal: Go to the Uniview Password Reset Page.

  3. Submit Request: Fill out the form with your SN, Model Number, and the Current System Date.7 You will also need to upload a photo of the QR code from the "Forgot Password" screen.8

  4. Wait for Support: Uniview technicians will send a security code or a temporary password to your email (usually within a few business hours).
