The system will ask you to input the primary administrator email address associated with the account when the system was first initialized. Type this in and click Next.

3.Scan the Dynamic QR Code:Use Amcrest View Pro or EasyViewer.

A security QR code will appear on your screen. Open your smartphone's camera or your Amcrest View Pro app, select the password reset tool, and scan the QR code.

4.Email the Generated Token:Send to support_gpwd@htmicrochip.com.

The QR scan will generate a unique string of text on your phone. Copy and paste this text string directly into a blank email and send it to support_gpwd@htmicrochip.com (with no subject line and no extra body text).

5.Input the Security Code:Valid for 24 hours.

Within a few minutes, Amcrest’s automated server will email you a 6-digit temporary security code. Type this code into the Security Code box on your NVR screen, click Next, and establish your new administrator password.

Method 2: The Security Questions Route (Best Offline Method)

If your security system is isolated from the internet (which is common for highly secure commercial setups in Cleveland), the QR code method won’t work. Instead, you can reset your system using your pre-configured security questions.

1. Navigate to your local monitor's login window and click Forgot Password.

For Amcrest NVRs and DVRs:

1. Power off the recorder completely by unplugging the power supply.  

2. Unscrew and remove the outer metal chassis cover of your recorder.
