Tap **Register**,Installing **Hik-Connect** (the app dedicated for property owners and end-users to watch feeds and receive alerts) is very similar, but with one major twist regarding Android devices.

Because of licensing and global distribution updates over the last few years, the official, most up-to-date Android version is hosted directly by Hikvision rather than the mainstream Google Play Store.

📱 Installing on Mobile Devices

For Android Users (Crucial Step)

While older or regional versions sometimes linger on the Play Store, you should always grab it directly from Hikvision to ensure your app receives security patches and works with modern firmware.

The Direct Route:

  1. Open your mobile browser and go to: appstore.hikvision.com

  2. Locate Hik-Connect - for End user and tap Download.

  3. Once the .apk file downloads, tap to open it.

  4. Your phone will likely say "Installation blocked from unknown sources" or "Browser does not have permission to install apps."

  5. Go to your phone's Settings > Security (or follow the prompt's shortcut) and toggle on "Allow from this source" for your browser. Complete the installation.

⚠️ Security Tip: It is highly recommended to go back into your phone's settings and turn off the "Allow unknown sources" permission after the app is installed to keep your phone secure.

For iOS Users (iPhone / iPad)

Apple users have it easy as the official app is actively maintained right in the standard store.

Just like the partner app, Hik-Connect is optimized as a mobile experience. However, if you want to view your cameras on a computer, you have two options:

  • The Web Portal: Go to www.hik-connect.com on any desktop browser. Log in with your mobile app credentials to manage your account and view basic links.

  • The Desktop Software: If you want a full-featured video wall on your PC, do not use the mobile app. Instead, go to Hikvision's official website and download the free desktop client named iVMS-4200.
